1) Helen has been accepted to Stanford's PhD program in Anthroplogy. She was also accepted at Cambridge but has turned them down. She'll be leaving for Stanford in the fall, even though she finds it frighteningly clean.
2) According to Facebook, Patrick Human is "in a relationship". If anyone has additional information, please advise.

Hi Everyone:

[edit} Lori and I thought you might like to see the first visible and edible evidence that Minnesota is celebrating its 150th anniversary: Our official White House Easter Egg for the upcoming Easter Egg Roll (on display I think at the White House Visitors Center, Julie and Helen, during Eastertime….) and the road signs at every entrance into Minnesota now going up (so watch for those when you enter MN this year!).

And I just spoke with the Minnesota Twins front office today and we will have the May 10 Boston Red Sox/Twins game devoted to the Minnesota Sesquicentennial (May 11 is Statehood Day). I’m lobbying hard to help throw out the First Pitch with my Minnesota Twin sister Karin – we’ll see……and watch for the sesqui patches on the team shirts and for all the “sesqui color” commentary. It’s supposed to be broadcast nationwide, thanks to the Red Sox winning the World Series. So to our Boston & New England crew – thank you!

Celebrity Sightings....from South Africa

Hi everyone,

I'm in South Africa today and wanted to brag about my celebrity sightings on the flight over. I was in business class with Mike Tyson in the row behind me and Kristin Davis (Charlotte from Sex and the City) in the row in front of me. Very exciting!!

Censorship

I thought that we needed to consider some serious issues on this blog, and a friend of mine sent this to me. I think it raises some interesting questions about censorship and its ability to actually create different discourses simply because it exists; is the absence of speech in fact a form of speech? If something is bleeped out, does it make it less or more visible?
